I am currently in the process of selling my house and have been showing the house to potential buyers. The house doesn’t have much repair work thankfully but there are minor annoyances that needs to be taken care of so we are staying here with bare minimum while fixing the house the best we can. We leave the house when there’s a showing and come back when it’s over. Today after one of these showings, I came back to the house to find that the thermostat display wasn’t on. Given the electrical troubles we have been facing for the past couple of days, this stressed me out a great deal. After a lot of running around to the circuit breaker and the furnace, cursing everything, trying to pull off the thermostat, cursing everything all over again, checking online solutions, cursing some more and finally calling remote technical support for furnace we found the root cause - The switch was off! 🤦♂️️. The prospective buyer seems to have wandered off to the attic, tried to switch on or switch off the light in there and managed to power off the furnace in the process. Jesus fucking Christ!
And now I have to mark the switches with a marker so that nobody else makes the same mistake.
